Port Harcourt set to host 1st Judo Classic Championship

The stage is set for the maiden edition of Judo Classic Championship scheduled for the University of Portharcourt sports hall.

The championship ,according to the Presudenr,Nigeria Jodo Federation(NJF),Dr Musa Oshodi while speaking with Tribunesports Monday will run through 13th -17th December.

Oshodi said, “the Federation has concluded arrangements to stage a classic championship which is first of its kind in the history of Judo in Nigeria.It is the gathering of the elite judokas in the country.The five top rated judokas in each of the fourteen individual categories that exist in Judo will compete for honour.”

The NJF president added that, “the Federation is doing its best to take the game to greater height hence the idea behind this championship and hopefully,we shall do more.

“While assuring all that the championship will be hitch free disclosed that ,the championship will be used among others to select athletes that will represent Nigeria at the All Africa Games in March 2024 in Ghana.”
