Real can’t cope without Ronaldo ―Zamorano

Former Real Madrid star, Ivan Zamorano admits Los Blancos were always going to struggle without the goals of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo jumped ship to Juventus in the summer and the Bernabeu club have scored just 14 league goals in 10 games, while table-topping Barcelona have 23.

The Portugal skipper has bagged five times for the Italian giants and Zamorano, who scored 77 times in 137 outings for Real between 1992 and 1996, feels there was no way they could have found someone to fill the void in front of goal.

“It’s difficult to replace someone who scores over 50 goals a season. It’s impossible to find a man like Ronaldo because there is not any,” he said.

“Ronaldo did not just score a great amount of goals, he did so on big occasions, too.”
