Rooney trains with Everton for first time since his return

Wayne Rooney joined his new Everton team-mates for the first time this morning after he completed his move to the club from Manchester United.

The 31-year-old has been given the No.10 shirt this season, which is expected to be vacated by Romelu Lukaku’s impending move to Manchester United.

Rooney greeted his new team-mates this morning before being put through his paces with the rest of the squad.

The Croxteth-born striker is returning to the Goodison Park club after 13 years.

The England international signed a 2-year deal with Ronald Koeman’s side and will be looking to refind the form that made him Manchester United and England’s all-time record goalscorer.

Rooney scored 253 goals in 559 appearances for United, with 53 in 119 for England.
