The Argentine was expected to be rested for the Champions League dead-rubber but will miss City’s next four games after his dismissal against Chelsea on Saturday
Sergio Aguero may play against Celtic on Tuesday in the Champions League because of his four-game ban.
Aguero will be suspended for four matches because of his two-footed horror tackle on David Luiz, ruling him out until Manchester City’s trip to Liverpool on New Year’s Eve.
Pep Guardiola originally planned to rest Aguero for the dead rubber, but says he is considering playing him to give him a game.
“There will be changes tomorrow, definitely,” said the City boss.
“I am so happy to give minutes to people who deserve to play and who did not play in the last games.
“If Sergio is going to play or not, I’m going to decide today or tomorrow. I don’t know at the moment.”
Guardiola was terse when asked about the mass fracas at the end of City’s defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
When asked what sparked it, he would only say: “The players.”
But he did accept that he will now be without the banned Aguero and Fernandinho, who was also dismissed.
“It’s a pity what happened in the last minute and of course we are going to accept the ban from the FA and we are going to work with other players for the next games,” said Guardiola.
The Spaniard also gave a glib response when quizzed on City’s awful disciplinary record and they have already amassed six red cards this season.
“We are the best team with ball possession and with most red cards,” he said succinctly.
