Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko has avoided any retrospective FA action for his apparent stamp on Newcastle’s Kennedy.

The visitors went on to claim the points 2-1, with Jan Vertonghen and Dele Alli on target for the north Londoners but one of the main post-match talking points was whether Sissoko would be hauled over the coals for his alleged indiscretion.

However, it has now emerged that, although he received no punishment at the time from referee Mike Atkinson, the incident was spotted by the officials and therefore the France international can receive no sanction after the match.
