Tiger Golf Club to host inaugural Green Mount Fountain golf championship

Tiger Golf Club is set to host the maiden edition of the Green Mount Fountain Golf Championship this weekend at its premises in Odogbo Cantonment, Ibadan.

The Captain of the club, Alhaji Gbenga Subair, said the championship marks an important milestone in the club’s history and reflects its commitment to the growth of golf in Nigeria.

“This maiden Green Mount Fountain Golf Championship is a significant step for our club. Beyond the competition, we will be commissioning our signature hole, which is the longest par-5 in Nigeria, and it represents our continuous investment in world-class golfing facilities,” the captain said.

He added that the event is expected to bring together golfers from different parts of the country and further position Tiger Golf Club as a key destination for the sport.

The signature hole will be officially commissioned by Oyo State Governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, during the championship.

“We are equally excited about the commissioning of our signature hole. It is the longest par-5 in Nigeria, and its commissioning by His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, underscores the importance of this project to the club and the state,” he added.

According to the captain, the championship is expected to attract golfers from various parts of the country and further enhance the profile of the Tiger Golf Club.

“We believe this tournament will not only deliver quality competition but also help position Tiger Golf Club as a destination for top-level golf events in Nigeria,” he said.

The championship is scheduled for January 16-17, with a cocktail party will hold on Friday, while the tournament tees off on Saturday, January 17 withthe commissioning the same day.
