Bayern Munich’s manager, Vincent Kompany, has expressed confidence that home support would aid his team to send Paris Saint-Germain packing out of the UEFA Champions League.
Both sides clash tonight at the Allianz Arena in the reverse fixture of the semi-final, with the Parisians having a goal advantage following their 5-4 victory at the Parc des Princes.
“There’s a good relationship between this team and the fans. At the start of the season, maybe not many believed we’d still have a chance to reach the final.

“Now we’re here, we’ve experienced many special moments. And I think the fans believe we can do it. We want to make it a memorable moment,” the former Manchester City captain said at a press conference.
When asked about the first leg, which ended in a 5-4 defeat, the Bavarians’ head coach adopted a calm tone, conceding goals doesn’t bother him, provided they win and advance to the final.
“The mission is to win games. We have ideas that we think help us to do that. It’s just about that. We’ve shown that we can win many games, PSG have shown that too.
“In the end you have to score one more goal than your opponent to win a game. If you can do it without conceding, that’s the best thing that could happen.
“It always depends on the teams. If one decides to take a step back and defend more, then there could be some calmer phases in the game. Otherwise, there won’t.
“It’s difficult to imagine that either team will change what brought them here in the first place. We’re playing at home, we want to win and will do everything for that,” Kompany said.
He also confirmed that Serge Gnabry remains the only player already ruled out of tonight’s showdown.
“Serge is out. All others are there and available. That’s important and a big difference to last season, where we were very unlucky with injuries,” the Belgian added.
Meanwhile, of the 10 previous occasions where Bayern had lost the first leg of a European semi-final, they were eliminated nine times, only coming back to reach the final against CSKA Sofia in the 1981/82 European Cup.
