Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh, has pointed to Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman as the type of forwards that could have changed Morocco’s outcome against Brazil at the 2026 World Cup.
He praised Morocco’s display in their Group C opener against the five-time world champions but argued that a sharper edge in attack would have turned dominance into victory.
In the match at New York/New Jersey Stadium on Sunday morning, Morocco took the lead through Ismael Saibari before Vinicius Jr restored parity for Brazil, forcing both sides to settle for a draw.

The Atlas Lions created several openings throughout the contest but struggled to finish, managing only three shots on target from 14 attempts, while Brazil registered five on target from 12.
Despite controlling large periods of the game and producing sustained pressure, Morocco could not convert their superiority into goals.
Oliseh said the difference would have been clear with a more clinical presence in attack, naming Osimhen and Lookman as examples of the kind of forwards that could have made the difference.
Explaining on X, Oliseh wrote, “This Moroccan team delivered an impressive performance, demonstrating solid defensive and offensive organization. If they had players similar to Victor Osimhen or Ademola Lookman against Brazil, they could have won by a score of three to one at the very least.”
He also pointed to Brazil’s vulnerabilities, noting that only individual quality kept them competitive in the encounter.
“Brazil seemed deceptive, and thankfully they had Vinícius Jr and Raphinha. I appreciated the confidence and development shown by the Moroccans,” he added.
Morocco now turn their attention to their next Group C fixture against Scotland at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on June 19.
