Academy celebrates Children’s Day with golf clinic

Golf Together Academy on Tuesday engaged young ones in a golf clinic as part of activities to celebrate this year’s Children’s Day.

The academy which is aimed to train children as future golf professionals regardless of their background was put together by Golf Together Ltd in conjunction with Ladies Section of Tiger Golf Club, Odogbo, Ibadan.

Participants were engaged in group activities that promote teamwork and camaraderie, helping them make new friends.

Speaking at the clinic, Golf Together Junior Academy Registrar, Bawa Emmanuel said the academy was dedicated to promoting the game of golf among children through engaging and educational clinics.

He disclosed that the aim of the event aim to instil a love for the game while teaching essential skills and teamwork.

“Every May 27, we engage the younger ones in golf clinics so as to introduce the game to them at tender age, focus on fundamental skills such as putting, chipping, and driving, tailored to different age groups and skill levels.

“Golf promotes physical activity and helps develop coordination and balance.

“For the first year, the company gave scholarships to best three where they paid their tuition fee and also inculcated to the golfing community.”

Bawa encouraged Parents are encouraged to participate, fostering a supportive community around the children’s golfing journey.

“The message I have for the parent is golf sharpen your child both mentally and physically because if somebody is not mentally sound, playing golf is something difficult and golf is a game that can expose your children not only to these societies but outside world.

“There are lot of opportunities in golf,” he said.

Also, Resident Pro, Tiger Golf Club, Musa Amadu, hinted that clinics are a fantastic way for children to explore the game of golf, develop new skills, and make lasting friendships.

In her remarks, one of the participants, Aishat Babatunde, a student of the International School said she’s happy with what she saw on golf course and motivated in playing the game after the clinic.

He thanked the organiser for introducing the game to them while urging to continue with their good work.
