Jumai Hajara Adamu has emerged as the new Lady Captain of Tukur Yusuf Buratai International Golf Resort and Country Club (TYB-IGRCC) Abuja after an election which was held at the clubhouse held over the weekend.
Adamu polled an overwhelming 129 votes to defeat Rose Abus Nyam, who polled 22 votes and the incumbent Lady Captain, Maureen Apute, who garnered 26 votes.
Speaking after the announcement, Adamu described the victory as an act of divine grace and faith rewarded.
“I return all the glory to God Almighty. This victory is His doing, and I am deeply grateful to every member who believed in me,” she stated.

She, however, promised to lead with humility, inclusiveness, and dedication, as well as strengthen camaraderie and promote excellence among female golfers at the club.
“With God’s guidance, I will serve diligently, promote unity, and ensure that every lady golfer feels valued and inspired,” she added.
She also thanked the outgoing Lady Captain, Maureen Apute, for her service, noting that her administration laid the foundations to be built upon.
Club members, while congratulating Adamu on her emergence, expressed confidence that her tenure would usher in renewed energy and growth for the ladies’ section.
