Alaba gets fresh mandate as IGC captain

Captain of Ibadan Golf Club (IGC), Seyi Alaba, has been re-elected for a second term as the Captain of the Club, as he promised to build on the achievements of his first term in office.

He also planned to actualise the club’s strategic roadmap.

Alaba claimed 192 votes unopposed to retain his position, along with his team, Honourable Secretary, Kunle Akinpelu (182),Competition Secretary, Bunmi Oladimeji (185 votes), Handicap Officer, Akee Joachim (184 votes), Course Officer, Babatunde Awodire (182 votes), House and Bar Officer, Kayode Adelekun (188 votes), Mr Mike Babalola claimed 160 votes beat Ik Ukandu who had 44 votes while Barrister Bayo Titilola-Sodo beat Busayo Aluko with 140 to 68 votes.

In his victory speech, Alaba expressed gratitude to members of the Club for their continued support and trust in his leadership.

He highlighted his commitment to enhancing the club’s facilities, promoting youth participation in golf, and organising more tournaments to elevate the club’s profile.

Alaba also emphasised the importance of collaboration among members to foster a vibrant golfing and achieve the goals outlined in the club’s roadmap.

With a focus on sustainability and growth, Alaba aims to implement new initiatives that will benefit all members and ensure the club remains a premier destination for golf enthusiasts.

“I believe with my present team, we will work together to attract new members to the club,” he said.

As he embarks on fresh term, Alaba says he is determined to continue the progress made during his first term and to lead the Ibadan Golf Club towards greater heights.
