The former Nasarawa United handler has stated that he is using friendly matches to gauge his players’ preparedness.
Wikki Tourists’ head coach, Mohammed Babaganaru has stressed that his major reason for accepting to take part in the north East pre-season tournament is to enable him assess the players at his disposal and see how they will adjust to his tactics at competitive matches’ situation.
He said the result of the match won’t be important to him because he has come to the tournament even with some players whom he has seen very well but agreed to have them with him knowing that he would give them ample time in Gombe during the tournament.
Babaganaru told Goal: “We are here to test the players we have at our disposal. I am not laying too much emphasis on the result because I have come here to test as many players as possible and see what they have to offer at real match situations. Some of the players that I took to this tournament I am yet to see them well and I will do that here.”
Wikki Tourists will face Gombe United in the opening match of the North East pre season tournament on Monday before battling with Doma United and El kanemi Warriors.
