HECTOR BELLERIN is set to pen a new Arsenal contract within the next two weeks, according to reports.
Spanish new outlet Sport reckon Barcelona have cooled their interest in the Gunners sensation because he is on the verge of penning a new deal.
It’s suggested the Catalan giants have “direct information” from north London that Bellerin will put pen to paper in “one or two weeks”.
The coveted right-back left Barca for Arsenal in 2011.
He headed to the Premier League heavyweights at the same time Cesc Fabregas went the other way to the Nou Camp.
And since making the move, the Spaniard has established himself as a first-team star under Arsene Wenger.
Speaking to the Evening Standard, Bellerin explained that he only has eyes for Arsenal.
“If I wanted to play there I would have stayed there,” he said.
“I was very happy when Arsenal showed interest in me and I decided to come here.
“I’m not looking back, I’m just looking to help Arsenal.
“It’s nice for a player to know that big teams want you but I’m very happy here.
“I’ve still got three years left on my contract so I’m just focused on playing every single week, improving and hopefully making things happen here at Arsenal.
“I’m not in a rush to extend the contract. I’m happy. I’m comfortable. I want to be here a long time.”
