Chelsea wonderkid Tammy Abraham is eyeing a first-team place at Stamford Bridge next season when he returns from a loan spell with Bristol City.
The 18-year-old has been on fire in the Championship this season, scoring 10 goals in 12 games in all competitions so far to establish himself as one of the brightest prospects in the country.
Abraham will be up against some big names at Chelsea, with the likes of Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi to contend with for the central striker spot, but is confident that he can give Antonio Conte something to think about if he carries on playing like this.
Asked about his future ambitions, he said: ‘It would be nice to be highest scorer in the Championship.
‘If you are giving your all and it works out then yes, why not (break into the Chelsea team)?
‘This is why you’re here and why you go back to Chelsea and get in the first team.’
Chelsea don’t have the best record when it comes to handing first-team opportunities to young players and academy products, but Abraham’s form is making himself increasingly hard to ignore.
