Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Heartland Football Club of Owerri, have appointed Coach Mehmet Tayfun on a three-year contract which is subject to renewal based on his performance.
Tayfun was a coach with Boluspor, a Turkish club which late last year signed a technical partnership deal with the Nigerian club.
Tayfun arrived Nigeria on Tuesday in company of Heartland Chairman, Chibuzo ‘Bash’ Etuemena.
A holder of UEFA Pro License, Tayfun will be assisted by stand-in coach, Ezekiel Onyearugbulem, who succeeded sacked Ramson Madu.
The arrival of Tayfun is as a result of a technical partnership deal signed between Turkish club, Boluspor, a former club of the coach and Heartland last year.
“We asked the club for technical assistance which they obliged by giving us Tayfun,” an anonymous official told AOIFootball.com.
