Ladies Golfers Association of Nigeria (LGAN) Western Zone on Tuesday joins millions across the world to celebrate this year Women’s Golf Day.
The programme which held at Tiger Golf Club (TGC) saw lady golfers across the South west compete in the one-day event.
Speaking, the vice-president, LGAN Western zone, Mary Okunola said Women’s Golf Day is an event for females of all ages and skill levels to participate in golf and help in promoting the game of golf.
She said “Women’s Golf Day is a one-day event celebrating girls and women playing golf and learning the skills that last a lifetime.
“Women’s Golf Day does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of sex, race, colour, religion, ancestry, national origin, disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, or sexual orientation.
“Women’s Golf Day is a support network for women around the world wanting to learn golf and get more involved.
“We are all looking for ways to interact in a meaningful way. Socialising and staying connected with family, friends and work colleagues is very important. Golf offers a perfect platform to create connections and to be part of a larger initiative”.
During the course of the programme, professional golfers takes the children to the rudiment of the game.
