The tournament attracted golfers from within and outside Ibadan, with participants competing in different categories to celebrate the inauguration of the new executives of the club.

Speaking after his presentation, Ogunbameru attributed the victory to hard work, consistency and dedication to the game of golf.

He expressed appreciation to members of the club for the support and friendly atmosphere during the competition, noting that the tournament was highly competitive.
“I feel excited about winning this tournament. It was not easy because a lot of good golfers participated, but with focus and determination, I was able to come out victorious,” he said.
In his remarks, the Captain of Ibadan Golf Club, Rev. Fr. Akee Joachi, expressed optimism that, with the collective efforts of his executive team and the cooperation of members, the club would continue to achieve greater success.
He said that as he assumed office as Captain of the club, he did so with humility, gratitude, and a strong commitment to uphold the values, traditions, and excellence that make the club exceptional.
“Honestly, I never imagined that a day would come when I would stand before you in the capacity of Captain of this great club. But as we say in Yoruba, ‘Bo se wu Oluwa lo n sola.’ Indeed, it is only the will of God that prevails. Today, my heart is filled with gratitude.
“To everyone who believed in me, trusted me, supported me, encouraged me, and mentioned my name in the right places, I say thank you. Without your confidence and goodwill, I would not be standing here today.
“To my wonderful executive members, I say this sincerely: we are in this together. We have been called to serve, and we can only succeed through unity, cooperation, and genuine commitment to the progress of this club.
“I urge us all to remain united and dedicated as we work tirelessly to serve the members of this great institution to the very best of our abilities.
“The growth and success of this club is a collective responsibility. As they say, ‘Enikan o je awade,’ and ‘Igi kan o de le da igbo se.’ No one person can do it alone. This club has continued to thrive because of the spirit of togetherness, friendship, sportsmanship, and love shared among members.
“I encourage us all to continue in that spirit. Let us continue to look out for one another, avoid division, embrace tolerance, and show love and respect at all times.”
He congratulated all the winners and participants for showing their skills on the course.
