Floyd Mayweather has confirmed he is coming out of retirement – to face a Japenese kickboxing sensation.
It will be recalled that Mayweather first retired in 2015 before being tempted back into the ring to take on UFC superstar Conor McGregor in August 2017, who he defeated to extend his professional record to 50-0.
The American boxing legend will take on Tenshin Nasukawa in Tokyo on December 31 after signing a deal with a mixed martial arts company, Rizin Fighting Federation.
The format and rules for the fight with the 20-year-old, who has a 27-0 record in kickboxing and a 4-0 record in MMA, have yet to be decided.
“As far as the weight class and the rules, we’ll talk about that, we’ll get that situated within the next couple of weeks,” said Mayweather.

“It wasn’t easy to make this happen but we told the people anything is possible, so now we’re here and we wanna make sure that we give the people in Tokyo what they wanna see blood, sweat and tears.
“Rizin has done a remarkable job with the fighters.
“I look forward to giving you guys entertainment come December 31, but my relationship with Rizin, it doesn’t stop just here. I look forward to taking this worldwide.”
Mayweather, who is 21 years older than Nasukawa, won all 50 of his fights as a professional boxer and is regarded as one of the finest fighters of all-time.
