Lobi Stars striker Anthony Okpotu who finished as top scorer in the just-ended Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2016/17 season with 19 goals will receive Rashidi Yekini Golden Boot in Ibadan tomorrow.
Okpotu, member of the Super Eagles to the recently-held WAFU Nations Cup in Ghana, will receive the Golden Boot award from the Rashidi Yekini Foundation, SCORENigeria has been informed.
The event is scheduled to hold at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan from 12 noon.
Okpotu, 23, netted 19 goals this past season to finish top scorer of the NPFL season.
“Okpotu will be honoured by the Rashidi Yekini Foundation for emerging top scorer of the NPFL this past season,” Yekini’s lawyer Jubril Mohammed said.
“There is a prize cash of 100,000 Naira to go with this recognition.
“Yekini’s family will again be represented at this presentation which will begin at noon tomorrow.
“Several dignitaries including former international Felix Owolabi, who played for club and country with Rashidi, as well as officials of Shooting Stars will be in attendance.”
This will be the third such presentation as the Yekini Foundation has also previous NPFL Goal Kings Gbolahan Salami and Godwin Obaje.
