EPL games are back again! And this weekend’s round of matches promises to be interesting. No doubt, many are keeping an eye on the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton and the Super Sunday cracker between Man City and Arsenal.
Here are my predictions and analysis of matches to be played in the EPL this weekend:
LIVERPOOL V EVERTON
Liverpool’s incredible form in the month of March and their last result in this same derby, highly indicates there is no stopping them at home against Everton on Saturday. But their problem lies in the fact that they concede too often, and Everton would be looking to capitalize on that aspect. Everton haven’t been too convincing away from home as they are at home. So I would be going for a Liverpool win here.
MY PREDICTION: Liverpool 2-1 Everton
BURNLEY V SPURS
Spurs should be blowing Burnley out of the way, but injuries to key players; most notably- Harry Kane, would prove costly to them when they tackle a Burnley side that have earned most of their points this season at home and are good at causing big teams upset at the Turf Moor. I see Spurs struggling with this one. So I’m tipping this game to end in stalemate.
MY PREDICTION: Burnley 1-1 Spurs
CHELSEA V CRYSTAL PALACE
Chelsea are winning teams with ease this days, but come against a Sam Allardyce led side that are unbeaten in their last two league matches; winning all two. Palace would definitely make life difficult for their London counterpart, but Chelsea are really in-form at the moment. I just don’t see them dropping any point at home in this one.
MY PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-0 Crystal Palace
HULL V WEST HAM
Marco Silva would be charging his wards to go for all three points as they look to aid their battle for survival. With Hull City picking most of their points at home, and West Ham struggling away from home, the pendulum looks more likely to swing the way of Hull.
MY PREDICTION: Hull City 2-1 West Ham
LEICESTER CITY V STOKE CITY
Leicester haven’t lost a match since they let Ranieri go, winning all 4-matches they have been involved in since then. They battle a Stoke side that can be tricky; as they showed against City recently. But Leicester are all over the place at the moment and I just fancy them to just nick this one.
MY PREDICTION: Leicester 1-0 Stoke
MANUTD V WEST BROM
Jose Mourinho’s side are unconvincing and often fluff in matches they should be winning easily. And with the team laddened with injuries and suspension to key players, West Brom might fancy their chances; after subjecting Arsenal to a 3-1 defeat last time out. But, United showed against Boro they can manage a win with a depleted squad and would be looking to prove that against Tony Pulis led West Brom on Saturday.
MY PREDICTION: Manutd 1-0 West Brom
WATFORD V SUNDERLAND
Watford haven’t won a league match since their 2-1 home win over Burnley on the 4th of February; the same day Sunderland thumped Palace 4-0 away. Both sides have been struggling for points since then. Sunderland are looking for every possible means to escape the drop, and a point at Watford wouldn’t be bad after all.
MY PREDICTION: Watford 0-0 Sunderland
SOUTHAMPTON V BOURNEMOUTH
Southampton lost their last league match at home, and would be looking to change that when they face Bournemouth at home on Saturday. Meanwhile, Bournemouth have been impressive recently, but its their away form that’s not convincing enough. I would be going for a Soton win here. Though, it might not come too easy.
MY PREDICTION: Southampton 2-1 Bournemouth
SWANSEA V MIDDLESBROUGH
Both sides risk being relegated if they don’t raise their game and show more intensity. Swansea play home and would be looking to replicate the performance showed the last time they played a league match at home; defeating Burnley 3-2. But Steve Agnew would be urging his wards to up their game and improve on the performance showed against Manutd last time out. Difficult to call though, but Swansea looks more likely to win.
MY PREDICTION: Swansea 1-1 Middlesbrough
ARSENAL V MANCITY
Things haven’t been rosy and smooth for Arsenal recently. With the team entangled in some sort of crisis at the moment, Arsene Wenger must look for a way to get his side playing together again, and must do that early enough before their Super Sunday clash against City.
Meanwhile, City would be hoping to capitalize on Arsenal’s woes and put the Gunners to the sword. But, City also have their own troubles to worry about, as they look set to be without Gabriel Jesus and Ilkay Gundogan, with star player Kevin de Bruyne a doubt for the clash at the Emirates. If Arsenal wants to finish among the top four at the end of the season, then they should be taking this game serious. I would be going for a slim Gunners win here.
MY PREDICTION: Arsenal 2-1 Mancity
