The skipper reveals that even though he won the league title with the People’s Elephants, he cherished the one with Rangers because of the history behind the Enugu side’s triumph
Even though he has won the league title before as captain of Enyimba, Okey Odita has disclosed that his current league crown success with Enugu Rangers is more memorable because it marked the end to Flying Antelopes’ 32 years wait for the coveted trophy.
Odita led Rangers to the league title after a 4-0 home win over El Kanemi Warriors on Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu with 63 points from 36 matches and the veteran defender told Goal that he has dedicated the league title win to God.
“This league title win I will say is better than the one I had with Enyimba,” Odita told Goal.
“This would be better appreciated because it came after 32 years of anxious wait. We are all happy to be the set of people to achieve this in the history of the club. It wasn’t an easy feat but I am delighted that all our efforts didn’t just go down the drain.”
