Star striker Erling Haaland is under investigation by the Manchester police for allegedly using his mobile phone while driving his Rolls-Royce in Manchester.
The incident reportedly took place on March 14, 2023, a day after he scored five goals in a Champions League match against RB Leipzig. The police could potentially revoke his driver’s license and he may be fined 200 pounds and receive six points on his license if found guilty.
The news was reported by the English newspaper ‘The Sun,’ which also published video footage and photos allegedly showing Haaland using his phone while driving. The incident occurred on a dual carriageway, and cameras reportedly caught Haaland in the act.

Despite the ongoing investigation, Haaland has been in excellent form on the field, scoring nine goals in his last three games for Manchester City. However, if he is found guilty of the offense, he may face serious consequences.
Using a mobile phone while driving is illegal in the UK and can result in a fine, penalty points on the driver’s license, or even a driving ban. The penalties for this offense have become increasingly strict in recent years due to the dangers it poses to drivers, passengers, and other road users.
Haaland is not the first high-profile footballer to be caught using a mobile phone while driving. In 2018, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier was fined 50,000 pounds and banned from driving for six months after being caught using his phone while behind the wheel.
