Super Falcons depart for African Women’s Cup of Nations

Nigeria senior women team will fly out of the country to Cameroon for this month’s African Women’s Cup of Nations on Wednesday evening, November 16.

Florence Omagbemi’s ladies, who have been camping in Abuja since October 11 concluded their preparations with a 2-2 draw to Abess Academy on Monday.

Upon their departure from Abuja on Wednesday morning, the Nigeria delegation of 21 players and officials have arrived Lagos and will leave the country to Cameroon about 3pm in the evening.

Coach Omagbemi has announced her squad without injured captain Evelyn Nwabouku for the two-week women’s championship on Tuesday.

The Super Falcons will be lodged at the Parlementarian Hotel, Buea alongside opening match opponents, Mali about 37 kilometres from the Limbe Stadium.

The defending champions will begin their title defence against Mali on November 20 at the Stade Municipal de Limbe, Limbe.
