Liverpool thought they had their lifeline late in the second half when Ibrahima Konate went down in the box. Referee Clement Turpin initially awarded a penalty, but after a VAR review, the decision was overturned, sparking wild celebrations among the home supporters.
The noise inside RAMS Park grew even louder as Galatasaray edged closer to victory. Every Liverpool attack was met with whistles and jeers, while Osimhen’s name echoed around the stands whenever he pressed or held the ball up.
For Liverpool, frustration mounted. Gakpo missed another opportunity, while Salah found space only once, forcing Fernando Muslera into a routine save. It was a night where their attacking spark simply never ignited.
This result leaves questions hanging over Slot’s side, who still sit top of the Premier League but are faltering in Europe. Their reliance on Alisson’s brilliance was exposed once again, and the injury to their keeper adds further concern ahead of Saturday’s clash with Chelsea.
