Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) captain, Seun Akinyemi has called for total support from the Oyo State government ahead of the new Nigeria Professional Football League season.
3SC are owed several months’ pay from last season and barely escaped relegation.
“We need government to intervene in our affairs, to pay up our outstanding salaries and motivate the team ahead of the new season,” begged Akinyemi.
“It was not that we were not good last season, but the motivation was not there.
“We hope this season will be far better than last season in terms of prompt payment of salaries, match bonus and the players will go out there to play their role by winning matches and fight for a continental ticket.
“Coach Fatai Amoo is a good coach with meaningful experience in the league. And with him we can hit it big this season.”
‘The Oluyole Warriors’ open their new season on Sunday at home against Lobi Stars.
