Inter-club matchplay: Golfers unite as Ogbomoso Recreation Club host Dolphin Golf Club

The Ogbomoso Recreation Club (Golf Section) at the weekend played host to the prestigious Dolphin Golf Club of Lagos in an exciting Interclub Matchplay held at the Ogbomoso Golf Course.

The friendly contest was organised to promote the game of golf, strengthen ties between the two clubs, and foster the spirit of unity and sportsmanship.

The match, which featured golfers from both clubs across different categories, was highly competitive, with impressive displays of skill and determination.

At the end of the two-day contest, Ogbomoso Recreation Club (Golf Section) emerged the winner with an aggregate score of 9 – 8.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Competition Secretary, Mr. Patrick Osas the representing the Captain of Dolphin Golf Club, commended the warm hospitality and excellent arrangements put together by the Ogbomoso Recreation Club, while noting that such initiatives would further deepen golfing relationships across the country.

In his remarks, Captain of Ogbomoso Recreation Club (Golf Section), Mr. Aderibigbe Adeyinka, expressed appreciation to the visiting Dolphin Golf Club and to members of the Ogbomoso Club for their strong participation, financial support, and team spirit, which he described as the driving force behind the victory.

He said, “This is an avenue for both clubs to build on relationships with each other as the kitty is aimed at promoting the game of golf, strengthening ties between the two clubs, and fostering the spirit of unity.

“The event, beyond its competitive edge, also served as a platform to celebrate friendship, golf excellence, and mutual respect between both clubs.”
