Wikki Tourists coach, Abdu Maikaba has said that he has not resigned his appointment as head coach of Wikki Tourists.
The Bauchi-based side finished third on the table of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the just-concluded season.
Maikaba told Tribunesport by phone that he instead planned to renew his contract with Wikki Tourists if better offers fail to come his way.
“I don’t know where they got the story, I did not grant any interview toward such, so many journalists have asked me about that, I told them, I’m ready to renew my contract with Wikki Tourists and I’m also ready to look out for offers from other quarters,” Maikaba said.
“Since they have not renewed my contract, I am also ready to listen to offers from other clubs, I have not said I will resign but if I can get a better offer than that of Wikki, I will quit but I have not resigned.
“I want to play at the CAF Champions League, though Wikki qualified to play at the continental level, for now I have not resigned, I’m still under contract,” he disclosed.
It will be recall that last season, Wikki, under Maikaba, were only beaten to the third place by Nasarawa United on goals difference.
