MESUT OZIL admits he’s feeling the pressure ahead of Arsenal’s derby with Tottenham
Arsenal take on Tottenham on Sunday in a clash between two of the Premier League’s high flyers early in the season.
But Arsenal will be confident ahead of the game that they’re hosting at the Emirates.
They’re unbeaten in all competitions since the opening day of the season and are tied for the Premier League lead with Manchester City and Liverpool.
Tottenham on the other hand have slumped since their 2-0 win over Man City at the start of October, failing to win a game since then and losing to Liverpool in the EFL Cup along with a 1-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.
But that hasn’t lessened the tension for the players according to Ozil.
He told Arsenal Player: “Of course as a player you feel it some days before the game – you feel the passion, you see the fans and you read in the newspaper that the derby is beginning.
“All the fans want something special, so our job on the pitch is to win the game, to take the three points against Tottenham.
“It would be huge for us to take the three points against them.”
