Over 235 golfers set for 30th Tiger Open tournament

‎‎
‎The much-anticipated 30th edition of the Tiger Open Golf Tournament is set to tee off this week at the Tiger Golf Club, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ibadan.

‎The four-day event, promising thrilling golf action and camaraderie among players and enthusiasts, will feature no fewer than 235 golfers from across the country.

‎The tournament tees off on Wednesday, November 5, and runs through Sunday, November 9, 2025.

‎Speaking ahead of the event, Captain of Tiger Golf Club, Alhaji Gbenga Zubair, said the tournament would open with the Professional Invitational on Wednesday and Thursday, featuring some of Nigeria’s top golf professionals testing their skills on the challenging Tiger course.

He said, “Friday has been scheduled for the official practice round, followed by a cocktail evening — an opportunity for networking and social interaction ahead of the main competition.

‎“The main event proper tees off on Saturday and Sunday, with amateur golfers from clubs across Nigeria competing for top honours in various categories.”

‎Zubair described the Tiger Open as “one of the most prestigious tournaments on the Nigerian golf calendar,” adding that this year’s edition promises to be “a celebration of sportsmanship, friendship, and excellence — values that define the Tiger spirit.”

‎The closing ceremony and prize presentation will hold on Sunday at 5 p.m., with the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Chinedu Nnebeife, expected to lead other dignitaries to the event.
